August News: One, two, three big celestial events this month

Happy August! How are you doing?

How was July for you?

I found that a lot of transition and transformation has been happening since mid-June. We’re letting things go and leaving things behind that no longer align with who we are. And we’re re-aligning with those people, places, and things that will be part of our future.

Re-aligning is a natural part of life, of course, but there are times when groups of us are doing it at the same time—and that was June and July.

If you are part of that group, then I expect even-bigger things to come for you this month—because the Cosmos has a whopping three significant celestial events to support you.

First: The “Lion’s Gate” energy of early August. The Lion’s Gate is the name for the fact that, once a year, the Earth moves into line-of-sight communication with the star Sirius. It occurs in Leo season, so it is named accordingly (Leo/lion). This isn’t a single day, however; the increased communication happens over a couple of weeks. But it peaks around August 8.

Why does this help us? It helps us because Sirius is often called our “spiritual Sun,” and it is believed to carry energy that is wise, uplifting, and awakening.

So, during the period when our planet is better able to receive that energy, you yourself are receiving it—wisdom, upgrades, and greater awareness of your place in the Cosmos. If you’re open to doing so, then let this in. And, importantly, clear out of the way anything that would block that energy from settling into you. (I can do this in a healing, if you’d like assistance.)

Second and third, it’s Eclipse Season. Eclipses come in pairs—a solar and a lunar, two weeks apart—and happen a few times per year. To me, they are the most potent energies of all the regular astrological events. I’ve written an article that explains everything: “Solar and Lunar Eclipses: What happens, what it does to us, and how Occultists use the energy.” But to summarize:

On August 12, we have a Total Eclipse of the Sun, and it will stamp into being any changes you have made for yourself up to this time. (Celestial Event #2)
On August 27, we have a Partial (96.2%) Eclipse of the Moon, and it will expose your darkest parts (be they gifts or wounds) for you to make use of or finally release. (Celestial Event #3)

All of this energy will set you up nicely for the months and possibly years ahead. But that only happens if we have done the work *in advance*: higher energy does not magically sink into us; we have to “clean out the closets” to make space for it. If you haven’t done it yet, or you’ve been thinking about doing it, you still have a bit of time. And of course if I can help with that, I’ll be honoured to.
