calming presence, presence healing, is ahimsa possible, what does it feel like to be healed, what does it feel like to be healthy

The calming presence of a healed being

“I feel calmer when I’m around you. I actually choose my words more carefully, too.”

When we heal ourselves—in the way that I mean it—we’re removing from ourselves everything about us that would make another person feel unsafe in our presence.

We’re removing the tendency to lash out without thinking.

We’re removing the bitterness that chooses to blame someone else for something which is actually our own responsibility.

We’re removing the dramatic flair that defines our lives because we’ve spent too long running away from stillness and order.

And when we remove all of that and more, do you know what we’re left with?

Peace; the stillness and silence of contentment and just being.

Accountability; the certainty that we will accept full responsibility for the energy we put into the world, and thus not spill it onto a victim.

Trust; that everything has a purpose and is working the way it is supposed to work, such that we don’t have to rush in to save everyone.

And safety. Which is Ahimsa: the quality of being so absolutely healed and safe that nothing inside of you could ever cause harm to another being.

Having a presence, an energy body, that is peaceful and safe can be felt by other people. You will feel good to them. They will know that you can be trusted.

It’s something to covet, I think. If not for ourselves then for the sake of others and the world we all share.

When someone told me yesterday that my presence had a calming effect on them, it was such a high compliment. I have worked so very hard to heal myself. From ~17 years of intense dedication to that goal, to the 230 past lives I had to heal just in the month of November 2024 alone, to the 15 hours of sobbing last Tuesday when I had to again face the fact that my own father didn’t want me and tune in to heal that pain.

It’s hard.

And it’s also invisible work. There’s no medal you get and can show off. There’s no high income associated with it, to buy yourself a new house or nice car. It’s not flashy. It’s not loud or in your face.

It’s actually pretty quiet. The healed state is quiet.

And so it’s nice when people notice that. So, thank you to the person who did. It meant a lot to my heart.

And if you would like help with your own healing journey, please know that I am here for you.

“When our ahimsa is perfect,

then, in our presence,

wild animals will become tame,

and ferocious criminals will become harmless.”
