February News: Has your heart been hurt?

Happy February! How are you doing? We celebrate Valentine’s Day this month, so it’s a good time to put our hearts and heart chakras into focus for a moment. Our hearts are so important to our wellbeing; and not just physically but emotionally and spiritually. reiki heal broken heart, reiki for trauma, heart healing reiki, heal sadness reiki, reiki for divorce
In terms of our energy body, our heart chakra lies at the center of our chakra system. And if it’s blocked, then spiritual energy can’t flow through our body fully. It often gets stuck in our upper chakras—the throat, third eye, and crown—so that we’re ungrounded and too much in our heads rather than in our bodies. Or it gets stuck in the lower chakras, so that we live a life too focused on physical pursuits and pleasures, without the balance of higher wisdom.

Our heart chakra can get blocked any time we’re hurt. And what hurts our hearts? So many things. Here are some common things that can wound us here: betrayal; abandonment; low self-worth; feeling not good enough; physical abuse; not being loved unconditionally; not being seen for who we are; the end of a relationship; the death of a loved one; being verbally abused or belittled; feeling unwanted; feeling like we’re trying really hard at life but not being rewarded accordingly; moving out of a home that you lived in for a long time; witnessing the suffering of others; and so much more.

When our hearts hurt, part of us can shut down. We can go into self-protection mode, closing our hearts so as to protect against future pain. And while this is a good survival strategy, it’s not a healthy way to live once the event is over.

So think about your heart for a moment. Put your hands over your heart, close your eyes, and feel into the space at the center of your chest. How is your heart doing? Could it use a little love? Could it use some healing?
