That one act will help her recover.

Not medication. Not therapy. Not movement. Not psychedelics.

But people---people showing up to be there with her.

And as Judith Herman found, *not* having people around us---and worse, being abandoned by the people who were supposed to believe us---is a far worse trauma than the original act itself.
