Being able to see that a person has been hurt helps us to respond to their behaviour more appropriately, and to take it less personally.

I did something big. Or rather, I signed up for so

I did something big. Or rather, I signed up for something---and it will be big. But the signing up part was also a big deal.

I've shared a lot about my healing journey; how I got to where I am and started offering what I do because of the fact that I went through it all myself.

And I shared back in May about how just four years ago, I could barely hold my body upright. (The journey kicked my butt.)

So it was actually in April that I decided to commit to something I haven't done in at least 10 years: run 5 kilometers. I made that commitment by signing up for 9RunRun, an annual event in October that raises money for the mental health of first responders in Ottawa.

And I made that commitment without, you know, having done much running in the last decade.

But here's what I know about human bodies and our will: Our will transcends physical limitations.

We can do literally anything that we put our minds to. We have so much power.

And the Yogis tell us this. Take, for example, Swami Kriyananda:

"There is, literally, no limit to the degree of will, and therefore the measure of energy, that one can summon in any undertaking, simply because a strong will is not limited by the actual energy potential of the body; rightly applied, it draws directly on the energy of the universe."

What he's saying is that we are not limited; in any way. We are Source in form. And we always---*always*---have that connection to the Source from which we came. And so if you wanted to just get up and run 5k without having done any running in years, well, then, you could.

And that's what I did.

Back in June, I joined an event called Parkrun for their Saturday morning runs. And without any practice or warmup, I ran without stopping or slowing for five straight kilometers.

It was a huge moment.

Having done Parkrun several more times, I knew that I needed to up my game, and I changed my 9RunRun registration to be part of the 10-kilometer run. Because I know I can.

I may not run it all; I may walk a lot. But I know that this body can do it.

Just as your body can do anything---because you are Source in form, and your mind has the power to do whatever you need it to do.

When someone tries to dump their baggage onto you-

When someone tries to dump their baggage onto you---that is, to make their problem into your problem---you have two options: You can accept it, or you can push it back onto the person who created it.

When you push it back, you force the person to change their behavior.

You also clean up the energy around you, because no one is spilling their stress or their laziness onto you.

But by accepting problems that aren't ours? We allow those problems to keep circulating---and they never get dealt with, because the person with whom the problems originated just got away with not having to face them.

For the last five years, the background energy of the planet has been encouraging us to put up strong and clear boundaries, to say "no" to what's not ours, and to require people to take responsibility for their own baggage.

In doing so, the world becomes a better place: We breed accountability.

Either way, I encourage you to see clearly what's not yours, and politely but firmly hand the entirety of the problem back to the person or people who are responsible for it.

You do not have to take it on anymore.

(And if you are taking it on, then come for an energy healing and I'll heal the reason why you feel you have to do that, and get everyone else's energy off of you.)

A client came for a session because they wanted me

A client came for a session because they wanted me to ask their Higher Self for guidance.

This person had been presented with an opportunity, but they didn't want to take it. It just didn't align with who they were and what they wanted. But it did kinda sorta fit with what they had been asking the Universe for. So they were afraid to turn it down.

They were afraid to tell the Universe, "Um, I know I asked for that, but no thank you."

In the appointment, I tuned into the client and asked their Higher Self if accepting this opportunity was Right for them. Immediately, the HS said "no." Like, really truly no.

But the person was confused; and as I said, afraid. Who turns down the Universe?!

So I explained: There are indeed some of us, when we're deeply embedded in our paths, who have to take every opportunity that is brought to us. Not doing so would go against our soul's wishes, and against the carefully constructed timeline that has been set for us. But that type of dynamic isn't always at play.

When it's not, then the Universe is simply responding to our wishes--bringing us opportunities as soon as they become available.

But these things are not necessarily a 100% match for our desires. And we didn't necessarily realize that our wish would look *like THAT.*

So we have the chance to *refine* our wants. We can say, "Oh, thanks for making this available to me. But geez, I didn't realize it would be like this. So I'm going to pass on this particular opportunity, and *refine* my request. As of now, what I really want is...."

You are not obligated to do anything that does not feel Right to you. You can say no.

You can say no.

Please know that.

In other words, pretending that everything is just fine---when it's not---not only causes physical illness but it can also kill.

We are not built to suppress emotion.

We need to get it out.

If you know someone who's got a well of negativity stuffed deep inside of them, have them come for a healing.

Sometimes people think that they've failed if they did something and it didn't work out.

But it's only a failure if we didn't learn from it.

So don't be afraid to try new things. Do something different. Expand your life in creative ways.

Just be detached from the outcome, because you're going to learn something and grow from the experience---whatever way it plays out.
